QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give toward the Uncharted Initiative. You might have stocks, property, or another form of stored resources with which God has blessed you and from which He might be prompting you to give. If you need assistance facilitating gifts of property or stock, please contact OCC’s Financial Coordinator, Julie Howlett at julie.howlett@okolonacc.org.

  • We ask that everyone make a two-year commitment to Uncharted. Your fulfillment of that commitment will begin on the First Big Give, which takes place on December 8, 2024. Uncharted will conclude on December 31, 2026.

  • If you are currently making payments to eliminate debt, we commend you for your progress on this important goal. You should continue to do so. If we can help you on the journey to become debt-free, please let us know. OCC offers biblically-based budget counseling, financial planning resources and an annual course entitled Financial Peace University. However, being in debt doesn’t give us a pass on giving. Giving isn’t about what God wants from you, but what He wants for you. God instructs us to find a way to give with joy at all times, regardless of our circumstances.

  • Uncharted was crafted with you in mind. Uncharted is a one-fund generosity initiative, meaning it is different from a traditional capital campaign in which you are called to give an extra gift above and beyond your normal giving. Uncharted is a call to sacrificial generosity for everyone. If you have never given before, this is your chance to get in the game!

  • We believe the local church has the most compelling mission to which we can give our lives. We would love for you to make OCC your church home as we seek to lead more people to find and follow Jesus through Uncharted. Stop by our Next Steps area in the Lobby or text “next” to 502-289-1387 to learn more.

  • During this two-year period, every dollar given to OCC is a contribution toward our Uncharted Initiative. This means that everything — including our general ministry budget, our local and global mission work and our renovation projects — will be fueled by Uncharted.

what are you asking me to do?

1. PRAY ABOUT YOUR ROLE

First and foremost, we are asking you to pray and seek God’s direction on what He is asking of you. Uncharted will be catalyzed by prayer, so please pray daily for what God will do in your life and through our church.

2. ENGAGE IN A SMALL GROUP

What better way to grow, ask questions and ignite your spiritual enthusiasm than to join a small group with others who are on the same journey. Go to okolonacc.org/groups to get signed up!

3. DISCERN GOD’S DIRECTION

Spend time in personal reflection with God using the Uncharted book. Then, initiate healthy conversations with others about what you’re learning.

5. MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR ADVANCE COMMITMENT NIGHT

We ask that you make a significant generosity commitment that stretches your faith like never before. Be as generous as you can for the sake of leading more people to find and follow Jesus. Give in a way that changes you.

4. MAKE AN UNCHARTED COMMITMENT

On Sunday, November 3 at 6:00pm we will gather to worship in the Main Auditorium. This worship experience will be a defining moment for our church as we offer our commitments and pray for the next generation that will come to know Christ at OCC.

6. PREPARE TO BE AMAZED

We are asking God for a season of personal and collective growth that only He can generate. Open your eyes and prepare your heart to see God at work in a new way.
